FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 - Issue 2004
Introduction
During the year 2003 the FNMT-RCM began the minting of a series of collector coins dedicated to the World Football Cup Championship that is to take place in Germany in July 2006.
Continuing with the series, during the year 2004 work ensued on the design, minting and circulating of the following two coins, the reverse sides of which are dedicated to this sporting event.
Details
Minted in proof quality, the coins in this second issue devoted to the World Football Cup Championship 2006 portray on their obverses the bust of H.M. the King of Spain, while their reverses depict different football-related themes.

The obverse of the coin bears the bust of H.M. King Juan Carlos I. The reverse depicts the net of a football goal and the hand of a goalkeeper. The bottom part displays, in latent image, the map of peninsular Spain and a football field.
2-escudos gold
The obverse of the coin bears the bust of H.M. King Juan Carlos I, while the reverse portrays the colorful figure of a football goalkeeper making a "dive".
