4th Series Numismatic Treasures
Introduction
From July 30th the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre-Royal Mint put on sale to the general public the fourth set of collector coins in the "Numismatic Treasures" series.
In this series, conceived to reproduce unique coins from Spain's numismatic heritage, three previous sets have been issued, the first in 2008, dedicated to the Roman Aureus and the Spanish-Greek Drachma, the second in 2009 featuring the Segovian Centen and the Cincuentin, and the third set in 2011 spotlighting the Spanish-Carthaginian Shekel and the Visigoth Triente, that of King Swinthila and that of King Leovigild.
The coins selected for this fourth set are the gold Maravedi of Alphonse VIII, the Almohad Dinar, and an Alphonse VIII Dinero. The coins, minted in proof quality in gold and silver, have face values of 100, 20 and 10 euros respectively.
