The 2014 FIFA World Cup

Introduction

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will be the 20th edition of this competition and will be contested by the men's national teams from the 208 member associations of the FIFA.

This competition has been played every four years since the 1930 inaugural tournament except in 1942 and 1946 because of the Second World War.

In 2014 the championship will take place in Brazil from June 12 to July 13.

To mark the occasion of this worldwide event the Spanish Royal Mint is issuing a very special collector set composed of two coins, the first a 2 escudos coin minted of .999 gold, and the second an 8 reales coin minted of .925 silver.
