In deference to the properties and sites included in UNESCO's National Heritage List, Spain will make an annual release of a 2-euro commemorative coin. To be included in the UNESCO List presumes a pledge that the sites will be protected and will therefore remain well-preserved.

The 2016 coin issue in this series is dedicated to the Aqueduct of Segovia.

In 2016 the 2-euro commemorative coin will be dedicated to the Aqueduct of Segovia, which has won the title of World Heritage. The obverse of the coin is an image of this place.

This is now the seventh coin in the annual series dedicated to UNESCO-listed World Heritage sites in Spain.
