Introduction

With the heading "European Heritage" the Spanish Royal Mint has issued the thirteenth set of coins in the Europa Programme series. On this occasion the set is dedicated to Contemporary Europe.

Proof minted, the collector coins in this twelfth set in the Europa Program come in stylish presentation cases.

These coins may be acquired singly, each coin in its own case; or the full set of two coins is offered in a single presentation case.

The obverse portrays the likeness of His Majesty King Felipe. The lower part of the coin features the common mark adopted by the countries issuing coins in the Europa Program, while a five-pointed star fills the coin ground.

The reverse shows three motifs in oval frames. The upper oval displays a likeness of Salvador Dali; the oval to the right depicts the Torres Blancas building in Madrid; the lower left oval features a detail in colour from Joan Miro's work, Portrait IV.
