In deference to the properties and sites included in UNESCO's National Heritage List, Spain will make an annual release of a 2-euro commemorative coin. To be included in the UNESCO List presumes a pledge that the sites will be protected and will therefore remain well-preserved.
The 2017 coin issue in this series is dedicated to the Santa María del Naranco Church (Asturias).
The coin, individually hand-minted utilizing specially treated blanks and dies that ensure maximum quality, is presented in a stylish coin case that protects and at the same time allows a perfectly clear view of both faces of it.
