Prior to the introduction of the European Monetary System it was customary for the FNMT-RCM to mint, annually, a silver coin with a face value of 2,000 peseta. This tradition has now been carried over as a uncirculated silver coin face valued 12 Euros. The overlapping profiles of the Spanish King and Queen have been reproduced on the obverse and the Spanish coat-of-arms and a text commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Spanish Constitution are depicted on the reverse.
