Holy Year Xacobeo 2004

Introduction

Xacobeo 2004

The year 2004 is a Santiago de Compostela Jubilee Year, Xacobeo 2004, the first this century and the first in the millennium.

Pilgrims from around the world make the journey to the shrine of the Apostle St. James in order to obtain the indulgence granted to the faithful by the Church in the Holy Years, when the 25th July, the Day of the Apostle, falls on a Sunday.

To mark this occasion the FNMT-RCM has proceeded to approve, mint and release a collector coin that bears texts and motifs on the reverse dedicated to the commemoration of the event.
