The reverse replicates a world map on which three countries are conspicuous: Spain (the current world champion, shown together with the Spanish flag), South Africa and Brazil (these two linked by lines suggestive of the track of a football, to signify the preceding host country and the next FIFA World Cup host). Portrayed at center is the FIFA World Championship Trophy coated in gold.
The obverse of the sterling silver coin bears a likeness of H.M. King Juan Carlos I.
