2015 - Felipe VI (Silver-gilt stamp)

Introduction

In addition to printing philatelic products, FNMT-RCM joins forces with Correos (the Spanish Post Office) in the issuance of combined series of collector coins and stamps.

Felipe de Borbón y Grecia was born in Madrid on January 30th 1968. After the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I, he was proclaimed king on June 19th 2014 to become Felipe VI.

Details

The proof shows a new Basic Series reproducing a likeness of the monarch Felipe VI, King of Spain, whose proclamation marked the dawn of a new era in the Spanish monarchy. It also shows the coat of arms of King Felipe VI, as created under Royal Decree 527/2014, June 20th.

It contains the stamp in 24-carat gold, covering a reproduction of the stamp in 999 thousandths silver.
