5th set of Spanish Painters series: Miró
Introduction
This collection is dedicated to the brilliant artist Joan Miró (1893-1983). It is the fifth set in the collector coin series entitled "Spanish Painters", which aims to pay tribute to the most outstanding Spanish creators throughout history.
The five coins that make up the Fifth collector coin series highlight some of the artist's most representative paintings.
Details
The set is composed of five proof quality coins, blister-packed and presented in jewel cases.
The coins are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the FNMT-RCM and they are sold in three different presentations: singly, as a Silver Set (grouping the Cincuentín and the three 8-real coins), and as the Complete Set which includes all five coins.

The 8-escudos gold coin
This 400-euro face value coin depicts on the reverse the work entitled "Portrait of a Young Girl" (Catalogue Raisonné "MIRÓ PAINTINGS" n.º 70), and held by the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
The obverse portrays a rendering of the work entitled "Self portrait" (C. R. 1080), painted between 1937 and 1960, from the María Dolors Miró collection, on loan to the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
The Cincuentín silver coin
The obverse of 50-euro face value coin shows an image from the work entitled "Painting" (CR 460), executed in 1934. It is held in Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
The reverse presents a rendering of the work "The House of the Palm Tree" (CR 64), painted in 1918, currently in the holdings of the Reina Sofía National Art Museum in Madrid.
"Woman, bird, star" 8 reales silver coin
The reverse of this 8 reales and 10-euro facei value coin reproduces an image from the work "Woman, bird, star" (CR 1901), executed in 1978, held in the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
The obverse (common to the three 8 reales coins), captures the work "Autoretrat" ("Autoportrait") (CR72), painted in 1919, and held by the Picasso Museum in París.
"Characters and birds with a dog" 8 reales silver coin
The reverse of the second 8 reales and 10- euro face value coin reproduces an image from "Characters and birds with a dog" (CR 1887), painted in 1978, held in the Joan Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
The observe (common to the three 8 reales coins), captures the work "Autoretrat" ("Autoportrait") (CR72), painted in 1919, and held by the Picasso Museum in París.
"The morning star" 8 reales silver coin
The reverse of the third and last of this set 8 reales and 10-euro face value coin reproduces an image from the work "The morning star" (CR 633), painted in 1940, held in the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
The obverse (common to the three 8 reales coins), captures the work "Autoretrat" ("Autoportrait") (CR72), painted in 1919, and held by Picasso Museum in París.
