To commemorate the 5th Centenary of the death of Christopher Columbus the Spanish Royal Mint has cast a 12-Euro coin in silver, now available in a practical blister.

This coin, minted in 925 ppt sterling silver, portrays on its obverse the superimposed effigies of Their Majesties King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia.

On the reverse is reproduced an image of Christopher Columbus, according to the portrait of Rafael Tejedo that is preserved in the Naval Museum of Madrid. On the right are represented the three boats that accompanied the Admiral in his encounter with the New World. The coin is presented in an elegant case.

The coin is presented in an elegant numbered case and limited to 20,000 units.
