2 Euro Proof - Granada
Introduction
Spain wishes to pay tribute to the properties and sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage list by issuing a site-related 2-euro commemorative coin on a yearly basis. Inclusion in this list conveys that the sites will be protected and that they will be preserved.
This collector coin series issued in 2011 is dedicated in this instance to the Alhambra, the Generalife and the Albayzin of Granada.
Details
The fifth 2 Euro coin release portrays on the obverse the unparalleled Patio de los Leones (Courtyard of the Lions) located in Granada's Alhambra complex.
This is the third coin in the annual series dedicated to sites in Spain that are listed by the UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
This proof quality coin comes in a stylish coin case marked with its edition number. The edition for this coins will be limited to 7,500 units.
