Europe Program - Manuel de Falla
Introduction
With the title European Inheritance, Real Casa de la Moneda is issuing the eleventh series of collector coins within the Europa Programme. The issue is dedicated to Manuel de Falla (Cádiz 1876 - Alta Gracia, Argentina 1946), one of Spain's greatest composers of all time.
Manuel María de los Dolores Falla y Matheu (Cádiz, Spain, November 23rd 1876 - Alta Gracia, Argentina, November 14th 1946) was, together with Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, Joaquín Turina and Joaquín Rodrigo, one of the leading Spanish composers of the first half of the twentieth century.
He died from a cardiorespiratory arrest in Alta Gracia, Argentina on November 14th 1946.

The reverse bears an image of Manuel de Falla's head in bronze, a work by sculptor Juan Cristóbal. The sculpture is held by the Manuel de Falla Archive, Granada.
The obverse of the silver coin bears an image of HM King Juan Carlos I.
