30 Euros - 4th Centenary of Don Quixote (Part 2)

Introduction

The year 2015 marks the 4th centenary of the publication of the "Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha, Part 2".

To commemorate this important event the Spanish Royal Mint has launched a 30-euro coin minted in sterling silver, presented in a stylish coin case.

Details

The obverse portrays the overlapping effigies of Their Majesties Don Felipe and Doña Letizia.

The reverse reproduces a scene from the incident befalling Don Quixote and Sancho Panza on their mount Clavileño, taken from an engraving by Joaquín Ballester held in the Royal Spanish Academy. On the right, within a circle, a quadruple latent image shows a windmill with its sails in four different arrangements.

The coin comes in a stylish currency case, numbered, and in a limited edition of 10,000 units.
