300th Anniversary of the Spanish Royal Marine Officer Cadet College

The present year of 2017 marks the 300th anniversary of the Spanish Royal Marine Officer Cadets College (Real Compañía de Guardias Marinas) that was established in 1717 in Cádiz, and was before the current Escuela Naval Militar (ENM) at Marín, Pontevedra.

On the occasion of the 300th anniversary, the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre-Real Casa de la Moneda is offering the general public a collector coin struck in sterling silver.

The coin of proof quality is presented in exquisite jewellery case.

The obverse portrays the image of His Majesty King Felipe VI wearing the Navy’s formal summer dress uniform with badges of Captain General. On the left, a coat of arms of the Military Naval School in colours.

On the reverse, a depiction of the main gateway to the Escuela Naval Militar de Marín (Pontevedra), where the Navy officers receive their training, is shown.
